Retro-styled games seem to be a really hot gaming trend at the moment. There has been numerous indie successes catering to the nostalgia craze. The best games have been masters at combining the best things from the old days with modern mechanics. CrossCode looks to be one of those games.

CrossCode is a single-player Action-RPG about a player stuck in an MMO of the distant future. Now before you think traditional fantasy with sword and sorcery, this game is all about one thing: throwing VRPs – or simply “balls” as everyone seems to call it. Not only are these balls your trusty tool to master several dungeons full of puzzles, they are also your weapons. Together with close-range attacks and special skills, they help you to fend off hordes of enemies.

If you have been following along our Facebook (which you should), then you will have read about some vague updates coming to Solar Roller. It’s about time we reveal just what those changes are, don’t ya think?

Skins, skins, and skins! Play the updated version, and you’ll instantly notice a huge difference. Not only have we applied new skins to the platforms, but some of the planets got a new and improved look as well. We’ve even applied some particle systems to this updated version, giving some plants a unique atmosphere.

See the difference?
See the difference?

We’ve even added an entirely new planet, ready to be conquered at a moment’s notice. With this new planet, it poses new challenges. We are introducing three new platforms, each ready to rock your world. The red will make things a little hotter, the green might make you want to stay a little while longer, and the blue? Well, I hope you’re ready to try your patience because it might just have a mind of its own.

It’s About Time Bethesda Did This

Photo from GameSpot.com

Even the big wigs can change the way they give up the goods, just like us. Bethesda just announced it will be removing subscription fees for Elder Scrolls Online when TESO launches on next gen consoles in June of this year. For all those who don’t prescribe to team PC, it cannot come soon enough, as the game has been available for quite some time. Since TESO first launched on PC in 2014, there have been mixed reviews about the game, specifically the subscription fee. This will likely resolve some of the harsher criticism. Continue reading It’s About Time Bethesda Did This

Captain Toad is a game set in the Super Mario 3D World environment and story line. In fact it takes place just before Super Mario 3D World. Captain Toad is a 3D puzzle platform game for the Nintendo Wii U. You primarily use the tablet to control the game world and move Captain Toad around the reach the goals. Captain toad is a very unique way to play. You either use the touch screen or the second control stick in order to rotate the world map around to navigate Toad though the level. Nintendo Finally Harnessed Their Humor with This Video

Looks like Nintendo has taken a new spin on their marketing and is taking full advantages of the freedom YouTube can grant. Since when did they get this funny? Regardless, it made me a believer in amiibo…just not romance.

Basically, this ill-fated romance definitely demonstrates amiibo and their uses, and I will quite frankly say I didn’t really buy into their point of existence before. The video does a good job of showing the social aspect of the mini-figurines and how you can easily import your character with your personal stats, which hey – is kind of nice. How many times did you go play a game at your friends’ and wished you had all the gear you had on your system unlocked? Plus it cuts down on all that “login” time that you get when you’re doing coop on your Xbox or Playstation, thus making it a rather genius idea.

Check out this Nintendo humor! Maybe you’ll be a believer in the amiibo after.
